Trojan runners compete in Briar Cliff Invitational

WOMEN'S RESULTS - MEN'S RESULTS
McCOOK LAKE, S.D. – Nic Penning of Dakota State placed 12th in the Briar Cliff Invitational Saturday morning at the Adams Nature Preserve. The Trojan women's cross country team placed 14th with 420 points.
Each DSU runners that competed in the Briar Cliff Invitational ran their personal best times this season.
Penning finished with a time of twenty-five minutes and 50.80 seconds in the 8K race, which featured 174 total runners. Taylor Hauge was 62nd in 27:17.74.
University of Sioux Falls claimed the men's team title with 27 points.
A total of 162 runners competed in the women's side. DSU's Kayla Sveen finished 96th with a time of 20:48.39. Anastasia Asimakopoulos was 121st in 21:33.01. Brooke Fritz placed 140th in 22:18.39. Summer Bronson recorded a time of 22:21.99 for a 141st place finish. Amber Wiebenga was 145th in 22:35.08.
Nebraska-Omaha won the women's team title with 38 points.
Dakota State will take a week off before returning back to action for their final regular-season meet. The Trojans compete in the Mount Marty Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 20. The meet will be held in Yankton, S.D.
