DSU Volleyball ends season with loss at Mayville State (N.D.)

Kristen DiPaolaMAYVILLE, N.D. – Mayville State (N.D.) outhit Dakota State 42-26 in kills Saturday evening as the Comets swept the Trojans in three straight sets at Lewy Lee Fieldhouse.  The loss ended DSU's volleyball season with an overall record of 12-20 and 2-6 in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) conference record.

Mayville State won by the scores of 25-20, 25-12 and 25-13.  The Comets, who will host the A.I.I. Volleyball Conference Postseason Tournament in two weeks, raised their record to 23-13 and 3-5 in the A.I.I.

Taylor MoscoKristen DiPaola had nine kills for the Trojans.  Taylor Mosco added six kills.  Caitlin Pick recorded five kills.  Stacey Schuller produced 25 set assists.

Katie Green had 13 digs for DSU's defense.   Schuller had a service ace.

Nikki Roholt smashed 10 kills for the Comets.  Remington Werner and Maggie Maroney each added nine kills.  Laura Kolness had 35 assists.

Maroney recorded 19 digs and three solo blocks for Mayville State.

Katie GreenIt was the final career volleyball match at Dakota State for three seniors – DiPaola, Green and Mosco.
