Pillar selected to NAIA Showcase All-Tournament Team

Katy PillarLa CROSSE, Wis. – Katy Pillar of Dakota State University Lady T's basketball team was chosen to the NAIA Showcase All-Tournament team, announced Saturday afternoon. 

Pillar, a 6-foot-1-inch sophomore center, poured in a career-high 28 points and pulled down seven rebounds in Lady T's 67-65 loss to host-team Viterbo (Wis.) University on Nov. 9. 

On Nov. 10, Pillar recorded a double-double of 15 points and earned 11 rebounds in DSU's 68-63 loss to No. 4 Indiana Wesleyan on Nov. 10.

Katy Pillar averaged 21.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in the two-day NAIA Showcase.In the two-day NAIA Showcase event, Pillar averaged 21.5 points and nine rebounds per game.  She shot 18-for-25 overall from the field, producing a 72 percentage from the field.

Katy is the daughter of Joe and Diane Pillar of Sioux Falls, S.D.  She is a graduate of Sioux Falls O'Gorman High School and is majoring in Business Management at Dakota State University.

The Lady T's return back home Tuesday night as they host their long-time rival Dakota Wesleyan.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at DSU Fieldhouse.
