Large named to A.I.I. Football Offense Most Valuable Player

A.I.I. FOOTBALL ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

Brandon LargeMADISON, S.D. – Brandon Large of Dakota State University's football team was selected to the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Football Offense Most Valuable Player, announced Tuesday.

Large, 6-foot-4-inch senior quarterback, had a record-breaking season for the Trojans.  He broke a new DSU school record for most passing yards in a single season with 2,883 yards.  He broke numerous DSU school records during his two-year stint with DSU.

Large finished the 2012 stellar season by completing 234 passes in 410 attempts with a completion rate of 58.4 percent.  He amassed a total of 20 touchdowns and produced a passing efficiency of 128.2. 

According to the DakStats-NAIA statistical website as of Wednesday, Large ranks eighth in the nation in total passing (2,883).  He is 11th in the nation in passing yards per game (262.1) and 13th in total offense yards per game (267.8). 

During Large's two-year career at Dakota State, he completed 462 passes in 806 attempts (57.3 completion percentage).  He amassed a total of 5,170 yards (235.0 yards per game) and recorded 40 passing touchdowns.  In addition, he had 288 yards rushing with four touchdowns.

Brandon is the son of Derek and Cathy Large of Mesa, Ariz.  He is majoring in Physical Education at Dakota State University.
