Trojan Volleyball team rakes leaves for community service.MADISON, S.D. - The Dakota State University volleyball team rakes leaves in the Madison community earlier this month.  The Trojan Volleyball players take part in one of the NAIA's Champions of Character projects by displaying community service to the city of Madison.

Dakota State is one of the 221 NAIA institutions to be named to the NAIA's Champions of Character Five-Star institutions, announced in October.  The NAIA's flagship program Chamipons of Character emphasizes the five core values of integrity, respect, responsbility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

During the volleyball season, Katie Green read the NAIA's Champions of Character creed prior to each Trojan home volleyball match at DSU Fieldhouse.  In addition, the DSU volleyball team participated in the annual breast cancer awareness in a volleyball match versus Jamestown (N.D.) on Oct. 10 by wearing pink clothing.
