NAIA DIVISION II MEN'S BASKETBALL NATIONAL POLL - No. 7
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Dakota State University men's basketball received votes recognition for the seventh straight week. The seventh regular-season edition of the 2012-13 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 poll was announced Tuesday by the national office.
DSU received five votes to the national poll for the fourth consecutive week. Two other Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) teams are ranked in the Top 25. Rochester (Mich.) moved up three spots from No. 14 to No. 11, while Valley City State (N.D.) jumped up two spots from No. 24 to No. 22.
The Trojans secured their third straight winning streak for the first time in 21 years after a 90-69 victory over Trinity Bible (N.D.) on Jan. 26. DSU dropped a 63-54 home contest to nationally-ranked Valley City State (N.D.) on Jan. 24.
Dakota State is scheduled to play two games this week. DSU heads to the Cimpl Arena to take on in-state rival Mount Marty Tuesday (tonight) at 8 p.m. The Trojans return home at DSU Fieldhouse on Saturday evening, hosting Jamestown (N.D.) in an A.I.I. conference game at 6 p.m.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents. The eighth-regular season Coaches' Top 25 Poll will be announced on Feb. 5.
