Four Trojan runners place at Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational

FRANK SEVIGNE HUSKER INVITATIONAL RESULTS

Stephanie UherLINCOLN, Neb. – Four Dakota State University runners placed in the 38th annual Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, hosted by NCAA Division I University of Nebraska.  The two-day event took place at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The meet featured numerous schools from all levels (NCAA, NAIA).

On Friday, D'Artist Williams ran in the men's 60-meter dash.  He clocked a time of 6.99 seconds for a 29th-place finish.  He did not advance to the next round.

Stephanie Uher broke a new DSU school record time in the women's 600-meter run.  SAndy Coyhe finished 12th with a new school record time of 1:38.26.  The previous old mark was set by two runners – Uher and Brittany Young – which both runners tied for a time of 1:38.60.  Uher qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in the women's 600-meter run.

Andy Coy and DSU's student assistant coach Matt Fideler ran in the men's one-mile special race (featuring best runners, primarily from NCAA Division I).  Fideler recorded a time of four minutes and 10.11 seconds and placed sixth.  Coy was the only NAIA runner in the event and finished 10th.  He ran an automatic national qualifying time of 4:15.78.

D'Artist WilliamsDakota State continues their action on next Saturday, Feb. 9.  The Trojans travel to Sioux Center, Iowa to compete in the Dordt Invitational.  The meet takes place at the Dordt's Recreation Center.
