DSU appears in NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball national poll for eighth straight week

NAIA DIVISION II MEN'S BASKETBALL COACHES' TOP 25 NATIONAL POLL - No. 8
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Dakota State extended their weekly appearance to eight weeks in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 national poll. The eighth edition of the national poll was announced by the national office Tuesday afternoon.
DSU, a member of Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) received four votes to the national poll. Two other A.I.I. teams are ranked in the Top 25. Rochester (Mich.) remained at No. 11, while Valley City State (N.D.) moved up from No. 22 to No. 19.
Dakota State extended their winning streak to three games as they went 2-0 last week. The Trojans defeated their in-state rival Mount Marty (S.D.) 63-55 in Yankton, S.D. DSU improved their home record to 9-2 on Feb. 2 as they defeated Jamestown (N.D.) 74-62 in an A.I.I. conference game.
The Trojans are slated to play two games this week. DSU play their final home regular-season of the game on Wednesday night as they entertain Mayville State (N.D.) in the 'Blue-Out' night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at DSU Fieldhouse. Seniors will be recognized prior to the game. On Saturday, the Trojans travel to Fremont, Neb. to take on Midland. Game is set for 4 p.m. at the Events Center.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents. The ninth-regular season Coaches' Top 25 Poll will be announced on Feb. 12.
