JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Dakota State University men's basketball team arrived at the Civic Center Thursday evening, the day before the start of the three-day Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Division II Basketball Tournament (hosted by Jamestown College). The Trojans along with all A.I.I. women's and men's qualifying teams participated in the NAIA's Champions of Character event.
Student-athletes work with developmentally disabled and challenged kids from the Anne Carlson School in Jamestown. Greg Ulland, JC women's basketball head coach, led this Champions of Character event. Each team helped the kids with several drills at the Civic Center.
The A.I.I. Division II Basketball Conference Postseason Tournament kicks off Friday with women's first-round games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Third-seed Dakota State (19-9 overall record) plays sixth-seed Northern New Mexico in the first-round at 5:30 p.m.
