Luke Lamb earns NAIA Men’s Basketball All-American Honorable Mention

2012-13 NAIA DIVISION II MEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-AMERICAN LIST
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2012-13 Division II Men's Basketball All-American teams. Luke Lamb of Dakota State University was selected to the NAIA All-American Honorable Mention list, selected by the NAIA All-American committee.
Lamb, a six-foot-six inch forward, was an integral member of the Trojan men's basketball team that captured the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference Postseason Tournament Champion for two straight years. In addition, he was a member of the DSU men's basketball team that qualified for the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament two consecutive seasons, advancing to the 'Elite Eight' on March 9 for the first time since 1992.
DSU broke the school record of 24 victories this season.
Lamb earned A.I.I. All-Conference first team honor, announced on Feb. 25. He was named to the A.I.I. Conference All-Tournament team where he averaged 16.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in the tournament.
Lamb averaged 11.9 points and 5.8 rebounds this season for the Trojans. He was 141-for-344 (41 percent) from the field, 58-for-167 (34.7 percent) from the 3-point range and 63-for-74 (85.1 percent) from the free-throw line.
During his two-year stellar career at DSU (60 games), Lamb amassed a total of 626 points (10.4 points per game), 274 rebounds (4.6 rebounds per game), 86 assists (1.4 assists per game), 68 steals (1.1 steals per game) and 16 blocks (0.3 blocks per game). He was 218-for-539 (40.4 percent) from the field. Lamb converted 93 free-throws in 112 attempts (83 percent).
Lamb produced the seventh most career 3-pointers in DSU men's basketball record book with 97. He is tenth in the record book for career 3-point field goal percentage, converting 97 3-pointers in 274 attempts (35.4 percent).
Luke is the son of Kathy Lamb of Altoona, Iowa. He is a senior Business Management/Marketing major at Dakota State University.
Mark Hoge of Jamestown (N.D.) and Sekani Milliigen of Valley City State (N.D.) from the A.I.I. Conference were named to NAIA All-American Second Team. Two Rochester (Mich.) players were named to NAIA All-American teams, Dramell Hogan as a second-team and Drew Maynard on the honorable mention list.
