Softball Signs 12 for 2011

Dakota State University Head Softball Coach Ken Prorok announced Monday afternoon the signing of 12 players to the 2011 recruiting class. This class will consist of eight freshmen, three junior college transfers, and one returning senior.

Five Dakota State University softball players had been listed in the Trojan softball record book this past season. A team record was also listed in the record book.

The Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) has announced the all-conference teams and postseason awards for softball after the completion of the postseason tournament Monday. Two Dakota State athletes had been selected to Gold Glove awards for the best performances during the 2010 season.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. - The Trojan softball team continued their play in the DAC Softball Postseason Tournament at the College Complex Sunday. The seventh-seeded Dakota State faced the fourth-seeded Mayville State in a loser's out game. The Trojans fell short to the Comets 6-4.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. - The Dakota State University softball team competed in the DAC Softball Postseason Tournament Saturday at the College Complex. The seventh-seeded Trojans suffered an 11-3 defeat to second-seeded Minot State in six innings. DSU eliminated sixth-seeded Valley City State 5-3 in the loser's out game to remain alive in the tournament.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. - The weather continues to push back the start of the DAC Softball Tournament. The already rescheduled 10 a.m. Saturday start has now been pushed back to a 12:30 p.m. start, depending on field conditions.

Dickinson State will be the number one seed when the 2010 Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) Softball Championship opens on Friday, May 7th, in Valley City, N.D. Dakota State is the seventh seed and will face second seed Minot State at 10 a.m. at the College Complex Field #2.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. - The Trojan softball team concluded their four-game series with Jamestown at the McElroy Park Sunday. Jamestown won the first game 8-0 in five innings. The Trojans fell short in the second game as the Jimmies rallied for a 6-5 extra innings victory.

PORTLAND, N.D. - The Dakota State University softball team traveled to Mayville State in the DAC's four-game series Saturday and Sunday. Mayville State swept the Trojans 4-2 and 10-2 on Saturday. On Sunday, the Comets took game one 9-6 and the Trojans won the second game 12-2 in five innings.
